Hambone stock

I made a stock with the hambone of the ham from this weeks dinners. It looked so lonely I added some onions, garlic and bacon. Then a pound of green split peas jumped into the pot.

The warm aroma was all through the house.  The smell of ham and bacon got the attention of our rat terriers. The brother said it was REAL good, his highest praise, and polished off two bowls.  

I loved it too. Yummster!
