fall finally

I have been waiting for the fall colors to get to us.  In the last five days they have showed up.  Finally!

I guess the indian summer has slowed their arrival, but orange is here with a vengeance now.

All the lanes in our little community are lined with crepe myrtle.  They turn a luscious burnt orange.

Our first hint of fall always hits the myrtles first. They are the first to show green in the spring too.


Dotted around our landscape are gingko trees.  That are a brilliant yellow this time of year.  This one is just starting it's transformation.
