Lettuce

While watching The Chew I discovered one of my favorite sammies was a favorite of the social elite of the 19th century.  Lettuce sandwiches.

Apparently sandwiches of lettuce on toasted white bread were on the menu for fancy teas of the rich and famous.

 Who knew? I eat so fancy! So good!
