December tomatoes

If you recall, I planted tomatoes this summer.  They grew to be beautiful vines and gave us quite a few tomatoes.

Last month our plants finally froze.  Since they still had dozens of green fruit on them I could not bring myself to throw them out.

I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't what we got...

today these tomatoes are still ripening

Over the last few weeks we have harvested
about 30 ripe tomatoes from these dead vines.


Who knew?
