Salad spinner, Lettuce only?
Like most homes these days we have a salad spinner. While I do use it to dry washed lettuce I learned of a different use from Alton Browns 'Good Eats'.
Whenever a coleslaw or a fresh tomato salsa is constructed it will become soggy. The fresh veg will give off a certian amount of liquid once cut.
I find that if I load all the chopped veg into a salad spinner with a touch of salt the excess liquids will collect in the bottom.

The fresh salsa I made tonight was pretty wet. A quick spin to extract any remaining liquid
Now it is a lovely salsa
