Australia on fire.

The fires in Australia are truly massive, and much like our California fires people and animals are being are being displaced, burned out, and killed.  In both places the endangered animals that have been so carefully protected and conserved are more endangered by the fires.

In some of the news accounts koala have been called ‘functionally extinct’  With 70% of their territory destroyed there is concern of them ever recovering.

I’m wondering if the same can be said of the California grey wolf. The California condor has struggled to overcome their own extinction event.  Have the fires this year endangered them once again?

We have to keep the all the endangered in our hearts.  The people, the homes and all the animals.

Aunt mercy out!
