Morning sweet tooth
Some mornings I wake craving sugar. Sticky buns, pop tarts. . . ice cream. However my diabetes has other ideas.
There is a sweet solution. It's called apple granola. Not actual granola, more of a breakfast fruit salad. This is a recipe I shared a few years ago. But it needs repeating.
1 granny smith apple, grated
3 Tbs raisins
3 Tbs coconut, grated
3 Tbs pecans, chopped
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Splenda to taste, optional
Stir and eat. This makes breakfast and a snack for me.
Some of the kids I used to babysit loved this. Although, they called it worms. The strings of grated apple look like worms.
Freaked their mother out when she heard them ask me for worms at breakfast. The ONLY fruit they would eat. By the way.
