Toshach family ambrosia
Every date that even remotely hints of a family gathering we make this fruit concoction. Unlike most ambrosias this recipe has none of the ultra sweet componants. None of the small marshmallows or cool whip that so often is part of the traditional ambrosia Charles especially prefers the tangy version of this fruit salad. So no additional sugar or sweetener is added
I must say with Charles' knife skills and the beautiful fruits, resulting ambrosia is lovely to look at! With the fresh black cherries instead of the jarred kind it resembles rubies in the citrus back ground.
Ambrosia
2 large grapefruit, peeled and chopped
4 large oranges peeled and chopped
1 large pineapple peeled and chopped
2 cups fresh black cherries deseeded and quartered
2 cups of shredded coconut
Combine all in a large bowl. Refrigerate at least 2 hours. Overnight is even better. Serve cold.
Yummster!
