Italian sammie

I am a sandwich fanatic!  One of my favorite sammies is a pressed Italian on home made white bread. Yummster!

We had peppercorn salami, and pepperoni and provolone.  From Charles’s garden I grabbed some gorgeous basil leaves.  Layered on my Italian loaf bread I smeared garlic butter the bottom slice as I slid the sammie in a hot fry pan.  I topped the sammie with a plate and a 20oz can of pineapple.

The weight increased the pressure on the sammie. It also increased the crispness of the bread turning the sammie over. Cut corner to corner it’s a fabulous dipper for my basil infused olive oil.


Dang! Just writing about it is making me hungry!
