Lunch with Chloe
Yesterday I was able to have a small lunch with my young neighbor, Chloe. The excuse for the lunch was to test a dessert recipe. (not so good)
It was, however, also an excuse to show off a little. A pretty table.
Loads of food and all pulled together in less than an hour.
The only real prep for the food is to remember to move the puff pastry from the freezer to the fridge the night before.
Ham and Swiss in puff pastry.
Easy but impressive. One sheet of puff pastry laid flat. Layer with sliced ham and Swiss Cheese. Leave a 1/2 in border around the outside. Paint this border with egg wash. Top with second sheet of puff pastry and seal the edges. Paint top with remaining egg wash. Slash top pastry to allow steam to escape. in a preheated 450 degree oven bake 18 to 20 minutes. TaDa!!
Add French Fries, watermelon and a friend then lunch is served.
